Outdoor Corporate Events: Why They’re Worth It

Outdoor corporate events are, honestly, some of the most enjoyable events we get to capture. The energy is different outside. People are more carefree, more willing to talk at their own volume. They don’t feel cramped or hemmed in. They feel free to engage however they please.
And as an event organiser, the freedom is incredible. You can plan activities, run games, and have fun without worrying if someone spills a drink or drops something. You’re outside. It doesn’t matter. The cleanup can happen afterwards.
The footage always looks amazing. Even when the weather doesn’t play ball.
More Planning, Better Results
That said, outdoor events do require a little more preparation, especially from a film and photography perspective. The single most important thing you can do is establish a clear line of communication with your creative and visual team early on.
Talk to them about where they can store their equipment, how they’ll capture key moments throughout the day, and how they'll need power to any interview stations they set up. These conversations are easy to have in advance and make a real difference on the day.
Preparing for the Weather
Your crew will likely need to bring battery-powered lights, rain protection, and a covered station they can retreat to if things take a turn. And in England, they often do.
But a bit of rain doesn’t have to stop the show. As filmmakers and photographers, we have plenty of solutions. Waterproof cameras, umbrellas, rain covers. You might lose the drone and gimbal shots, but there is still so much incredible content to capture even in difficult conditions.
Don’t Be Put Off
The thought of an outdoor event can feel daunting when you factor in unpredictable weather and extra logistics. But the results, both on the day and on camera, are almost always worth it.
You just need to give it a little more time, attention, and planning. Make sure your filmmaker and photographer are well prepared for any circumstance, and then get outside and enjoy it.
